Purposes of Collection and Duration of Storage

  1. Communication through the site’s contact form (listed in the corresponding section above). Personal information collected here is only required to enable communication and is deleted as soon as the communication is complete.

  2. Course signup. The personal information provided by customers when signing up for a course (listed in the corresponding section above) is used to manage students during teaching and determine billing based on their type of employment. On cancellation of course attendance, all personal information is deleted.

  3. Booking a coaching session. The personal information you provide is used to book a Google Calendar meeting for the session. After the meeting takes place, the booking is deleted from the Eigenskills Google Calendar. Please note that your name and email address will also be processed by Calendly to book the coaching session. At the time this policy was last updated, Calendly were not selling this data. See their privacy policy for more information. The Calendly widget used on the Eigenskills website allows you to control Calendly cookie permissions (independent of using the Eigenskills site or services).

  4. Certificates. A database is kept attaching your name to a unique certificate ID, which is issued as proof of course completion. This database is kept indefinitely, in order to validate certificates in the future. The list of names and IDs is not made public (on the site or otherwise). It is only used when third parties (such as potential employers or education institutions) wish to verify the validity of an issued certificate.

  5. Customer overview record. A database is kept recording customer place of work or school, their position or role, and country. This is used strictly for internal analysis and statistics. Specifically, the aim is to have an overview of the customer base, in order to improve the course offering. This information is only stored for students that take the course. Neither the personal information or statistics derived from it are sold or made available to any third party.

  6. Site analytics. In order to get an overall picture of site activity, a visitor’s IP address, browser type, and operating system are anonymously collected using Plausible. This information is not personally identifiable and is used in aggregated form only. No cookies or tracking are used.

  7. Financial records. By Swedish law, financial records must be kept for at least 7 years. These records contain the personal information provided by the customer for billing.

Note that your personal information may be temporarily processed by third parties, such as Google or Netlify, for the purpose of communication (e-mail) and registration (forms). We do not rely on third parties to store your personal information, however, and your data is moved from the aforementioned third parties to our own storage once the relevant processes are completed.

Data Security

Your personal information is both transmitted and stored using encryption.

Correction and Deletion

On your request, your personal information can be corrected or deleted from the customer record and/or certificate database.

When your name is removed form the certificate database, the unique certificate IDs are still normally kept, to have a way of validating awarded certificates. However, these IDs are randomly generated, i.e. they contain no information from your personal data. Should you, for whatever reason, also wish for the ID to be deleted, this will also be performed on your request. Please note that this completely removes the option to validate your certificate in the future.

The exemption to the correction and deletion requests are the financial records kept by Eigenskills (e.g. invoices), as Swedish law requires that financial records be stored for a period of at least 7 years. After this time, you may request these records be deleted.
